Ice, ice, baby.
We have an ice storm coming our way. In fact the outer edge is here already. Oy. Irish is on the road driving
sffan and
puffgirl_two back to Toronto. He should be on the return trip by now, so we're hoping he pulls into the driveway before things get too dicey out there. (
sparky77 took off at 7:30AM to drive back to Chicago for a few weeks, and then she's off to Malaysia. We won't see her again until some time in April. Bon voyage, Qsie!)
Dar filled some big pots with water. I filled one of the bathtubs. We still have the lanterns and candles handy from last week, and we have a crate of starter logs down by the fireplace. The tarp had blown off the tractor, so I went out and anchored that again. (The tractor spent last winter in the shed, but this winter were using the shed for storing hay.) Fortunately it's not as cold this time as it was when the wind storm came through, so if we lose heat for a long time it shouldn't be that bad. I brought a big bag of salt in, and it's sitting by the front door. And with any luck, all of these preparations will be for naught because the power will stay on. A girl can hope.
Pixel was just making with the pitiful wailing. I think she's verklempt because she likes to hang out in the bathtub, and now it's filled with water. Heh. If I had a little kiddie float, I'd put her on it and let her laze about in the tub anyway. Which would last about 23 seconds before she sunk her claws into it and sank like a stone. A furry, angry stone.
sffan let me copy her Middleman files, so I think I'll catch up on those this afternoon. I also have Merlin and Leverage, but I'm more hesitant to try those. Of the two, I'd be more inclined to try Leverage first. Merlin? The fandom scares me. I'd need to get my head together in order to watch it and keep my reactions separate from the insanity going on around it. Plus - - claymation monsters? Really?

It's so good!
So far the forecast is calling for a bit of frezeing rain maybe tonight, and the ever popular "wintry mix" for Wednesday.
Most of the monsters in Merlin are CGI, but they're Doctor Who level of CGI, so I've been talking some smack about them. Although, I'm pretty sure the monster in the 2nd ep actually is claymation or at least stop motion. No worse than Oz's lame-ass werewolf costume in Buffy. If it entices you any more, the women are all pretty kick-ass and empowered.
Oz's lame-ass werewolf costume was an embarrassment, wasn't it? You see, I can put up with the cheesy monsters on Dr. Who because that's part of its charm, or at least it was for me back in the day. I'll give in and watch Merlin, I'm sure :)
You don't watch a lot of TV anyway, do you?
